Description: ABOUT OUR CLIENT- Size: Medium- Industry: Software Development - General location: Galleria JOB SUMMARYOur client is looking for a Network Support Engineer.The Network Support Engineer is responsible for the 24-hour support of production applications and hosted application environments.REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- Minimum of 5 years hands-on senior level experience as a network engineer in environments that included most or all of following: - Microsoft Windows server- Active Directory- SQL Server - HP/Dell/iBM or equivalent Intel server hardware- VMware ESX virtual infrastructure - Linux systems; mail server administration (Exchange or equivalent)PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- Checkpoint or Cisco PIX/ASA firewall certification and/or hands-on administration experience preferred- VMware ESX VCP certification and/or hands-on administration experience preferred - Cisco CCNA or equivalent hands-on Cisco support experience is a plus- Software engineering background (development in any language, familiarity with SDLC, ability to understand ERD and UML diagrams) is a plus JOB DUTIES- Monitor and support hosted applications, servers and network systems to maintain a highly available production environment- Manage and monitor all services provided by third-party hosting providers- Maintain high levels of redundancy and data reliability- Provide configuration management of the production, staging and development environments- Support the testing and deployment of changes to existing production environment and new hosted products- Configure and deploy all hardware to production- Strictly adhere to all security and change management polices and procedures- Create and maintain polices, procedures and documentation to support annual third-party SAS-70 audit- Evaluate, resolve and recommend appropriate action for all telecommunication, network, server, software and hardware problems- Set up and configure network systems and servers to include daily support and maintenance of multiple Windows 2000/2003 servers, including IIS and Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005- Strong technical skills.EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS- Microsoft MCSE required- Bachelor degree in related field or experience instead of a degree.JOB TYPE- Direct hirePAY & BENEFITS- Salary range $75,000 - $85,000- Some after hours work required
