Goodbye, paper timesheets! This fall Clearpoint introduced a new, web-based time reporting system that takes the place of paper and faxes for most of our employees. The system, called StaffMetric, allows employees to enter and save their hours worked each day until they submit the time report for online approval at the end of the week. Managers can approve time for one or several Clearpoint employees in one step.
Among the many advantages of the new system, employees and managers on the go can access StaffMetric 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any device that can connect to internet and display web pages.
Rahilla Shatto, project manager for the switch to online time reporting, said there are plenty of software products on the market for tracking time but very few of them cater to the special needs of staffing companies. “We did a lot of research and talked to people who have used the different systems, and StaffMetric came out on top,” she said.
StaffMetric is so easy to learn and use that Clearpoint’s employees and managers embraced it right away. “It even won over the skeptics,” said Clearpoint Controller Matthew Cousar. New users view an online training presentation that lasts only two minutes, and then they are ready to report and approve time.
Company president, James Webb, said StaffMetric helps Clearpoint continue to offer fast paycheck delivery for employees. “We process payroll in house and deliver checks just three days after the pay period ends. That’s not much time.” he said. “The tremendous growth we saw in 2008 means there are more timesheets to process and a lot of pressure on our payroll staff. StaffMetric sends time reports directly to our accounting software. It saves us time, reduces errors, and reduces the amount of paper we all have to use.”
