Description: ABOUT OUR CLIENTWeb development firm located in the Galleria area of HoustonJOB SUMMARYThe Web Developer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of interactive solutions for multiple firm clients. This includes working closely with the development and interactive design teams, project managers, and clients to implement functional requirements in an efficient manner. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE• Develops, maintains and tests web sites • Manages technical aspects (performs coding and programming tasks) • Understands browser specific compatibility issues• Handles domain registrations• Oversees URL redirects• Analyzes and troubleshoots technical problems • Designs, implements and tests new and existing applications • Performs testing for usability, flow and performance • Assists with implementation of SEO optimization KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESRequired skills: • Ability to build XHTML web pages using hand coded HTML and CSS• Basic understanding of SEO principles and best practicesPreferred additional skills: • jQuery• PHP & MySQL• MODx content management system• Ability to work with a team in a collaborative environment • Strong written and verbalcommunication skills• Strong work ethic and dedication to owning and resolving problems • Ability to manage multiple projects and disciplined in meeting deadlines • Eager to learn and implement new tools and methodologiesEDUCATION• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other advanced technical degreeEXPERIENCE• 2-5 years professional-level related technical experience • Strong online portfolio requiredJOB TYPE- Contract to Hire- Start date: ASAPPAY & BENEFITS- Salary $40-60K, depending on experience
